The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has recently shared its proposed plans to name firms under investigation at an earlier stage, stating that this would make the City watchdog's enforcement work more transparent and act as a deterrent. Updates on investigations would be published "as appropriate", the FCA stated, and the regulator would also provide details when cases have been closed with no enforcement outcome – a change to the current system, under which information on enforcement action is only published when this has led to an outcome, such as a sanction or a notice to pay redres...
